All kinds of courage to…

‘There are all kinds of courage,’ said Dumbledore, smiling. ‘It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.’

J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, p. 329, Bloomsbury.

In the French version, with Jean-François Ménard’s words :

Le courage peut prendre de nombreuses formes, dit-il avec un sourire. Il faut beaucoup de bravoure pour faire face à ses ennemis mais il n’en faut pas moins pour affronter ses amis. »,

J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter à l’école des sorciers, p. 230, Gallimard.
Traduction par Jean-François Ménard.

Covers of the first tome of the Harry Potter saga (French and British versions)

What do I think of it ? Personally, I find that it takes even more courage to give up confrontation and to be able to think about acting differently without denying one’s values. Thank you Jane Rowling for those words.
